Abstract:Sluiceisoneoftheimportanthydraulicstructuresondike,whichhasthefunctionsofdrainage,irriga
tionandfloodcontrol.Theunexpectedfloodleakagecausedbythecollapseofsluicegatesinfloodseasonwillbring
disastrousconsequencesandseriouslyaffectthesafetyofpeople ’slivesandpropertiesintheprotectedareas.Tak
ingDaijiahuculvertgatecollapseinJiangtangLakefloodzoneoftheHuaiheRiverasanexample,thisstudyre
tracestheprocessofculvertgatefailureandthesolutionofthedangeroussituation.Theunderwatermechanicsanal
ysisofthethrownpluggingmaterialiscarriedout.Itisestimatedthatthereasonforthepoorpluggingeffectisthat
thedifferencebetweenthewaterheadinsideandoutsidethedikeistoolarge ,andthewaterimpulseforceonthe
pluggedgabionsistoostrongthatitcannotbestabilized.Throughtheanalysisofthestabilityconditionsofthestop
page ,itisconcludedthatthecriticalstableflowrateofthestoppageis2.76m?s,thecriticalstableheaddiffer
enceis3.01m ,andthelowcoarsegabionhasstrongerstability.Thispaperalsoanalyzesanddiscussesthecon
structionoflargewatermaintenancebasinandthestrategiesofemergencypluggingofculvertgate.Theresearchre
sultsofthispapercanprovidereferenceforthefuturerescueofculvertgate.Theresearchresultsofthispapercan
provideareferencemethodfortherationalformulationofemergencyplanofsluiceinthefuture.
