                  Abstract:Mid - channelbarsareimportantpartsoffloodplainsinthemiddlereachoftheYangtzeRiver.Clarifying
                  thedistributioncharacteristicsofsuitablevegetationgrowthareasonthebarsandthecriticalconditionstheyshould
                  meetisacrucialprerequisiteforecologicalembankmentplanninganddesign ,aswellasvegetationchangingtrend
                  predictionontheriverinefloodplainaftertheoperationoftheThreeGorgesDam.Inthisstudy,GuanzhouBarand
                  TuqizhouBar ,locatedintheUpperJingjiangRiver,wereselectedastypicalrepresentativesofgravelandsand
                  mid - channelbars ,respectively.Long - timeseriesoffloodplaininundationandvegetationinformationfrom1986to
                  2002wereextractedbasedonLandsatremotesensingimages.Animprovedmethodcombininghydrologicaldataand
