                  Abstract:Inordertoaccuratelypredictthemigrationpathandconcentrationdistributionsofcontaminantsin
                  groundwatersystem ,itisnecessarytounderstandthedilutionandtransportofmulti - componentsolutesunderdif
                  ferentdensityconditions.Inthisstudy,transportphenomenaoffluoresceinandsodiumchlorideinthesolutionwith
                  differentmixingratiosareobserved,andconcentrationdistributions,dilutionindexandconcentrationstandardde
                  viationbetweentwosolutesarequantifiedattheoutlet.Theresultsshowthatinconstantdensityfluidstwocom
                  poundsaretransportedindependently,andtheconcentrationdistributionsaredeterminedbythecompound - specific
                  diffusivitiesand dispersivities.In contrast , in variabledensityfluids, twosolutesinteracteach other.The
                  transporttrajectoryandtheconcentrationdistributionsareidenticalbetweenthetwosolutesandtheyaredependent
                  onthesolutewithlargerproportioninthemixture.Comparedtotheconstantdensitycondition,variabledensity
                  convectionleadstoalargercontactareabetweenthesoluteplumeandthesurroundingfluids ,thusremarkablyen
                  hancingsolutedilution.
