Abstract:Thecalculationofwaterconfluenceisahydrodynamicproblem.A seriesofhydrologicmethodshave
beendevelopedinordertosimplifythecalculation ,amongwhichtheMuskingummethodisoneofthemostclassic
methods.Inthispaper ,theequivalentchannelisconstructedbyMuskingumparametersKandX,combinedwith
thecharacteristicrivermethod.Byusingthismethod,riverwidth,slope,andthebestwaterdepthunderdifferent
generalizedcross - section(rectangularcross - sectionandparabolacross - section)couldbecalculated.Also,this
methodisverifiedinactualriverchannel.Theresultshowsthattheproposedmethodexpandsthechannelinforma
tion,improvesthetraditionalhydrologycalculation modelofflow concentration, and isconductive to the
simulationofwaterdepth,flowvelocityandotherinformation,providinganewwayfortheconversionoftraditional
Muskingummethodintohydrodynamicmethod.
