Abstract:InordertodeeplyidentifythefeaturesandimpactsoftheseveredroughtinthePoyangLakeBasinin
2022,andtorecognizetheimprovementdirectionofdroughtdisasterpreventionandriskmanagementstrategiesun
derthenewsituation ,amulti - factoranalysiswasconductedonthedevelopmentprocessofthedroughtin2022.
TheStandardizedPrecipitationIndex(SPI)wasappliedtoconductamulti - scaleanalysisontheinter - annualand
inannualevolutioncharacteristicsofdistributionofthedroughtinthelast72years.Theresultsshowthat :(1)In
2022 ,thelongdurationofhightemperature,lowrainfallandlowwaterlevelofriversandlakesallsetnewre
cords.Thedroughtdevelopedrapidly,affectedalargeareaandlastedforalongtime.(2)InthePoyangLake
Basin ,therearefrequentflood - droughttransitions,especiallyin2022.TheJuly - Octoberperiodisthemost
severesummerandautumnmeteorologicaldroughtsince1951.(3)Duetothegradualimprovementofthedefense
system ,althoughitsufferedthemostseveremeteorologicaldroughtonrecord,thedegreeofdisastercausedbyit
waslessthanthatofotherseveredroughtyears.(4)Thedroughtinthecomplexenvironmentinvolvesmanyand
complexfactors.Inviewoftheweaknessesexposedinthisroundofdrought ,itisnecessarytoconducttop - down
researchondroughtdefensesystemaccordingtothedisasterriskmanagementtheory ,innovatedefensethinkingand
measures ,andimproveregionaldroughtdefenseability.
