Abstract:High - efficientusageofirrigationwaterresourcesisessentialtoensureagriculturalproductionandsus
tainableutilizationofwaterresources.Climatewarmingandrapidsocio - economicdevelopmentposegreatchallen
gestothesustainableuseofirrigationwaterresources.Currentagriculturalproductiontendstobemoreintensive ,
standardizedandinformationized,resultinginhigherrequirementsforthedevelopmentofefficientwater - savingir
rigationandtherealizationofprecisionmanagementofirrigationwateruse.Evapotranspirationcanreflecttheex
changesofwaterandenergybetweenthesurfaceandtheatmosphereandwaterconsumptionbycrops ,thusplaying
akeyroleinirrigationwatermanagement.Overthepasttwodecades ,withthedevelopmentofEarthobservation
technologies ,theoriesandmethodsofremotesensingretrievalofevapotranspirationanddatafusionarebecoming
mature,resultingincontinuouslyimprovingspatiotemporalresolutionandaccuracyofevapotranspirationestimates.
Thistrendhasgreatlymaximizedtheapplicationpotentialofremotelybasedevapotranspirationinthefieldofirriga
tionwaterresources.First ,thisreviewsummarizestheadvancesofremotesensingretrievalofevapotranspiration
anddatafusionandrelatedwidelyuseddatasets.Applicationsofevapotranspirationinirrigationwaterusemonito
ring ,irrigationscheduleoptimization,andevaluationofirrigationbenefitsaresystematicallysummarized.Thisre
viewcouldprovidereferenceforefficientutilizationandprecisemanagementofagriculturalwaterresources.
