                  Abstract:TheGobiDesertinNorthwestChinaisabarrenlandwithanaridclimate.However,afterthecomple
                  tionoftheTaratanphotovoltaicpowerstation ,thereisaphenomenonofgrassgrowinginalargearea.Inthispa
                  per ,weexplorethepossiblesourcesofweedgrowthinPVpowerstation.Theinducedmechanismoftwo - way“pot
                  covereffect ”wasinitiallyinvestigatedfromaqualitativeperspective.Thetemperatureandmoisturepatternsofthe
                  shallowsoilatthreemeasurementpointsandtheatmospherewereanalyzedbycomparingthePVpanelareawiththe
                  non - PVpanelarea ,andasimplequantitativeanalysisoftheannualanddailycyclemoisturepatternsofthetwo -
                  way “potcovereffect”wasconducted.TheresultsshowthatthecombinedfactorsofPV panelsandhardened
                  groundcoverinducetwo - way “potcovereffect”.ThePVpanelscansignificantlyreducethesurfacetemperatureof
                  soilinsummer.Thepositive “potcovereffect”isdominantinwinterandspring,whichisthemainmoisturesup
                  plytomaintainthesurvivalofweedsintheshallowsoillayer,andtheannualcirculatingwaterincreasesbyabout
                  11%~20%.However ,thereverse“potcovereffect”isdominantinsummerandearlyautumn,whichensures
                  thatthedailymoisturedemandofweedsfluctuateswithinasmallrange.Therelevantresearchinthispapercanalso
                  providereferencefordesertsandcontrol.
