                  Abstract:Thescientificclassificationandidentificationofrivergeomorphicunitsisconducivetotheaccurate
                  positioningofaquatichabitatsandprovidesabasisforthescientificassessmentoftheecologicalimpactofsmall
                  hydropowerandtherestorationofdamagedriverhabitats.BasedonthehydrologicaldataofDaningRiver ,thefirst
                  tributaryoftheYangtzeRiverfrom1972to2016 ,twohydrologicalcatastrophepointsaredeterminedbyusingthe
                  methodsofcumulativeanomaly ,slidingt - testandIHA- RVA,andthehydrologicalchangedegreesofthree
                  differentstagesbeforevariation ,variationstage Ⅰ andvariationstage Ⅱ areanalyzedandcompared;Onthebasis
                  ofsummarizingthepreviousclassificationsystem ,accordingtothefieldinvestigationandobservationdatainthe
                  periodoflowhydrologicalchange ,combinedwiththeprocessformrelationshipofgeomorphicunits,thetypesand
                  spatialdistributionofgeomorphicunitsinR1~R8reachfrom upstream todownstream inthestudyareaare
                  determined,andthegeomorphicunitrichnessindex(R)isintroducedDensityindex(D)anddiversityindex
                  (H d )areusedtoquantitativelyevaluatethegeomorphicheterogeneityofthestudiedriverreach.Theresultsshow
                  thattheaveragevalueofhydrologicalchangedegreeineachmonthofvariationstageIandvariationstageIIis
                  15.53% and24.42% comparedwiththatbeforevariation ;TheaveragevaluesofR,DandH d ofR1~R4(small
                  hydropowercascadedevelopmentreach )arelessthanR5~R8(relativelynaturalsection),withadifferenceof
                  9%,32.1% and17.2% respectively.Thegeomorphicheterogeneityofsmallhydropowercascadedevelopment
                  reachneedstobeimproved.Thestudyquantitativelyevaluatesthegeomorphicheterogeneityoftheriversectionand
                  canprovidedecisionsupportfortheclassifiedrectificationofsmallhydropowerfrom theperspectiveofriver
                  geomorphology.
