Abstract:Itisverycommonthatthedispersiveclaydamageiscausedbythefreeze - thaw(F - T)cycles,
especiallyinwaterconservancyprojectsinNortheastChina.TheF - Tcharacteristicsunderhydratingconditionsof
dispersiveclayaredifferentfromthoseofnon - dispersiveclay.Thethermalconductivityofsoilisthemostimportant
parameterinsoilthermalanalysis.Inthispaper ,thedispersiveclayistakenastheresearchobjecttoclarifythe
factorsaffectingthethermalconductivityofthedispersiveclay.BasedontheimprovementoftheJohansenmethod ,
athermalconductivitypredictionmethodsuitableforthecharacteristicsofdispersiveclaywasestablished.There
sultsshowthatthemainfactorsaffectingthethermalconductivityofdispersiveclayaremineralcomposition ,mois
turecontent,porosity(drydensity),andtemperature.Whenthetestsamplesarebelowzero,thelowerthetem
perature ,thegreaterthethermalconductivityofthesoil.Whentheinitialmoisturecontentislowerthan10%,the
thermalconductivityofsoilisnotaffectedbytemperature,butfor15%,thethermalconductivityofsoilisgreatly
affectedbytemperature.Thethermalconductivitymodelofdispersiveclayinthesaturatedstateisdifferentfrom
thatofnon - dispersiveclay ,anditiscalculatedbyseries?parallelpredictionmodels.Theproposedpredictionmod
elandformulaforthethermalconductivityofdispersiveclayintheseasonalfrozenareacouldreflecttheinfluenceof
temperature ,mineralcomposition,moisturecontent,anddrydensity.Itisconsistentwiththetestresultsand
couldbeusedforacademicresearchandengineeringapplicationsofdispersiveclayintheseasonalfrozenarea.
